Before it was cancelled, this summer's run of "Hamilton" at the Kennedy Center would have opened this evening.

In its honor, CCW's Dan Sherman will present to CCW Members a virtual encore of his program from two years ago.

Alexander Hamilton has always been known as a central player in America’s early history, and the phenomenally successful musical Hamilton has focused new attention on "the ten-dollar founding father."  This talk will review how Hamilton's life has been put on stage by presenting the show's history, listening to some of its songs, and explaining why the show has had such broad appeal.    

Dan Sherman (PhD, Labor Economics, 1985) works as an economist at American Institutes for Research (AIR) and has taught more than 20 adult education courses in the area on musical theatre, opera, and history.  He previously led a tour of the historic Anderson House mansion in DC for CCW.
