Linganore Wine Cellar is not only the largest winery in Maryland, it is also a test plot for grapes bred at Cornell. The Cornell viticulture team develops new varieties of grapes and works with the Aellan family, the owners of Linganore, to see which varieties perform well in the Mid-Atlantic region. The relationship between Linganore and Cornell directly impacts the grape and wine industry on the east coast. Anthony Aellan, president of Linganore, will give a tour of the winery as well as explain how the Linganore/ CU research relationship works. Cost: $17.00 (includes the cost wine tasting and lunch from Sascha's)
