Leadership Insights for Today's Fast-Paced World with Diane Hanson, Cornell '68

This fun and interactive program is designed to assist busy professionals gain greater insights into leadership techniques that can help them deal effectively with professional and personal situations.

Learn from the presenter's experiences as Commissioner and Mayor of Dewey Beach for a decade how leadership in government can be very different and requires a different level of expertise.  

Hear how the book Management Unleashed: Leadership Lessons from my Dog originated. The book is a story of a young manager learning to effectively lead her team in today’s fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment.  Part autobiographical, part fiction, this business fable provides insights to better understand behavior and improve effectiveness.

Background: Diane was owner of the management consulting and training firm, Creative Resource Development, Inc. for 28 years. Prior to starting her own business, she was an award-winning sales manager with Ayerst Laboratories (now Pfizer Pharmaceuticals) and has worked as a contract training manager at Astra Zeneca. Under her leadership as Mayor of Dewey Beach, Delaware, for six years, the town is now a beautiful family-friendly beach community that swells from 300 residents to up to 40,000 in summer. 

Diane has always had a love of animals and served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Chester County SPCA (now Brandywine SPCA) for 3 years. After receiving her BS degree from Cornell University, Diane graduated with distinction from the University of Pennsylvania with her MS in Organizational Dynamics.
