Spring is doing its thing, and the gardens of Hillwood are one of the best places in DC to enjoy it!

Join us for a guided tour of the beautiful home of heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post, followed by the surrounding gardens. Then, enjoy a delicious lunch (included) at the Merriweather Café.

We will meet at the Visitor's Center registration desk, where you can check in under the name "The Harvard Club of Washington, DC."

How to get there: The nearest Metro stop is Van Ness/UDC, a mile from the museum. The nearest bus stop is the corner of Connecticut and Tilden Streets NW, served by the L1 and L2 buses, half a mile from the museum. Hillwood provides limited complimentary parking. On busy days (like a Saturday in April), spaces may fill up, so please consider using a ride share service, taxi, or taking public transportation.

Accessibility: Please let us know if you require any accommodations. The majority of the gardens are wheelchair and walker accessible, with the exception of the Japanese-style garden and French Parterre. The second floor of the mansion is accessible via an elevator, but there are a few rooms with a small number of steps leading into them. Volunteers will be happy to provide an iPad with pictures or a photo album of the any inaccessible areas of the estate, and to discuss these areas with group members.
