This event is hosted by Alan Stillman (Cornell) and Clara Fang (Yale class of 2010)
Are you tired of online dating and happy hours? Do you want to meet people in real life and make authentic connections? Authentic Relating is a social event for those who want to connect with others in a sober, inclusive, and facilitated environment. Most social events throw a bunch of strangers into a room to fend for themselves, which disadvantages people who have social anxiety and with marginalized identities. Authentic Relating intentionally disrupts this dynamic by creating a structure that facilitates equity and inclusion. At Authentic Relating, you can have a meaningful interaction with every person, everyone has an equal amount of time to talk, listen, and be heard, and no one can dominate the conversation or be a wallflower. Prepared questions makes it easy to get beyond the small talk and have meaningful conversations. Guided exercises help people practice active listening and self-reflection. When we share from our authentic selves, we create the opportunity for genuine connections and self-understanding. The result is often moving and therapeutic.
This event is not exclusively for singles! All relationship status, ages, genders, sexualities, abilities, etc welcome! Tickets are available for November 24 (Vienna).
