Interest Meeting: Self-nominate to serve CCW on Board, Committees

Board of Directors election is coming!  The Cornell Club of Washington has opportunities for new graduates and all club members to join our Board of Directors or serve on one of our interesting committees. Don’t know what it could mean for you? Come to an interest meeting before June 4. (You’ll meet who else is keen!)

• ·         May 27 – come early or stay late at CCW’s EXPLORE DC happy hour in Clarendon
• ·         June 2, 12:00 noon (your lunch break) on Zoom  (40 min)
• ·         June 3,  at 7:30 pm on Zoom (40 min)

What to expect: We’ll discuss all the benefits of becoming a member of CCW’s Board of Directors or joining a club committee. Chuck and Maggie will be curious to know how such service with our other great volunteers would meet your needs. For example, motivation might be to

• ·         socialize and meet more Cornellians,
• ·         provide valuable community service and community BUILDING in the DMV,
• ·         network for business contacts,
• ·         set up all kinds of events that draw critical mass for group discounts—cultural, social, athletic, educational.
• ·         Without question, service on the Board can help build your resume,
• ·         learn about resources in the DMV,
• ·         and enliven “stay at home” or retirement years.
• ·         It will deepen your relationship to our Alma Mater and the Cornell Community of learners.
