Judith Heimann, retired diplomat and author, invites IO-FS members to attend a lively account of some of her adventures as one of the first “tandem” US diplomats who, as spouse to her diplomat husband and in her own diplomatic career, played a role in little-known events involving US relations with Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Admission is free. No registration is required.
Parking is available in visitors parking in the front and other spots around the grounds. Please enter through front lobby and go down to the performing arts center located on the 3rd floor.
Nominated for the 2016-17 American Academy of Diplomacy’s award for the best book on the art of diplomacy, Judith Heimann’s book Paying Calls in Shangri-La: scenes from a woman’s life in American diplomacy (Ohio University Press) is for sale at Politics & Prose, 5015 Connecticut Ave, Washington, DC 20008.
