Our friends at the MIT Club of Washington DC, cordially invite CCW Members to an exciting and stimulating evening with a talk by the President of The University of Maryland College Park, Dr. Darryll J. Pines.  Darryll J. Pines became UMD President in July 2020 and is the Glenn L. Martin Professor of Aerospace Engineering.  Dr. Pines became president of the University at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and had to quickly establish methodologies by which students can continue to be educated outside formal classrooms. He will share his experience and challenges and talk about the future of college education in U.S. and the world after the pandemic. For those with college, high school and middle school-aged children, this talk is not to be missed.
