Description: We need 6-8 volunteers to help handle an array of cute, cuddly, and friendly dogs in support of the Homeward Trail’s adoption event at the Reston Town Center Pet Fiesta, in Reston, Virginia. Join us afterward for festivities! Given the popularity of our pet events, the Cornell Club of Washington is adding a partnership with Homeward Trails to find homes for unloved and abandoned dogs, or those facing euthanasia from other overcrowded shelters.
Volunteers will be assigned a dog for either the morning or the afternoon shift, and will be responsible for walking the dog around the store, introducing him or her to prospective adopters, answering questions, and helping with the adoption process. Prior experience with dogs is a plus. Please note that while this event is family-friendly, there is a minimum age of 14 to participate.
*Special Requirements:* This event is part of a multi-group event, and there are two shifts available: 9:30am-1pm or 1pm-4:30pm. All volunteers must contact Homeward Trails’ event coordinator Jolynne Flores (email@example.com) to provide the following information: shift choice (or whether you are willing to do either shift), contact information, dog experience, and what city you will come from (for car pools or possible pet pickup).
