A decade ago, CCW helped with one of our most memorable events, a tribute to Major Rick Gannon '95, one of 2 Cornellians lost in Iraq/Afghanistan.
Cornell Naval ROTC and the Cornell Military Network have asked us to help them to commemorate, in Ithaca, the 20th anniversary of Major Gannon's sacrifice.
The 2014 DC area event was held at the new National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia.
"A Tribute to Major Richard Gannon II '95, with President Skorton, General John Paxton '73, and Lieutenant General Robert Blackman '70 Event. "

Major Gannon's family and his unit participated. As did former President Hunter Rawlings and many Cornellians.
Dear CMN Community,
We invite you back to campus on April 13, 2024, to join Naval ROTC and the Cornell Military Network in honoring the 20th anniversary of the sacrifice made by Major Rick Gannon ’95 for our country. We will come together with Sally, Connor, and Maria Gannon to commemorate this anniversary. Your presence would mean a lot to us.
There is a comprehensive schedule of activities planned throughout the day, concluding with a formal dinner at the Statler Hotel in the evening. As we work on finalizing the details over the coming months, we will keep you updated.
If you are interested in contributing to the funding of these events, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Very Respectfully,
Major Ted Powers (USMC) Executive Officer and Marine Officer Instructor Cornell University E powers@cornell.edu
